Burton, OH - BFG Supply Co., one of the largest horticultural distributors in the Midwest, just hired a former Commerce Corporation sales manager and nine former Commerce sales representatives, all who came "highly recommended from Commerce's senior management," says Rob Glockner, BFG President and CEO, who adds that BFG is engaging in "active conversations with several other Commerce sales reps."
Glockner says, "We took a significant step in expanding our footprint in the lawn and garden space when we acquired Wetsel 18 months ago, so being able to bring on even more high-character and knowledgeable people as a result of Commerce closing its doors will help us expand our position within the market even further."

Garden advice you can dig!

  1. Although they are a quieter, less boisterous company Arett Sales has hired more of the former Commerce reps than BFG. As you will see down the road, they will become the distributor of choice. Continually taking the "high road" has it's benefits.

    1. As long as there is a second distributor out there to keep Arett from raising prices to dealers then all good.

    2. I just saw an announcement that BFG bought/leased the former Commerce Grand Rapids facility and hire over 50 former Commerce people to staff it. According to the press release they're up to 19 former Commerce sales reps. Looks like they're trying to give Arett a run for their money
